SUNDAYS AT 9:30 & 11AMOUR PASTORS
KEVIN & BETH GREEN
In 2003, Kevin Green, a 3rd generation pilot, walked away from his dream career- building and flying recreational airplanes – and exchanged it for a new dream. The flight instructor didn’t realize that the private airstrip he developed in his backyard would launch a new era in his life and the lives of many others.
Nearly 2 decades later, Kevin and Beth Green pilot the creative and innovative movement known as Airborne Church, which is on mission to cross paths with the community in creative and unique ways. Their vision for their city sees beyond a Sunday service and into the areas of business, sports, the arts and education.
the journey
In 2002, Kevin and Beth Green found themselves dreaming of a church in which their children could take pride and would love. In this season of searching for greater purpose for their family, Kevin and Beth met Pastor Steve Kelly who spoke these words: “There’s a great church in you!” It would change their lives forever.
A vision was conceived. As a result, Kevin and Beth sold their airpark, Green Landings, where Kevin ran a successful aviation business. With the proceeds and the support of a group of like-minded friends, they purchased and renovated a furniture store where they would pioneer their church and uniquely name it, The Living Room. The church grew to over 500 members in the first two years.
Pastor Kevin began to share an expanded vision- to build on property with interstate frontage. The vision became realizable in 2008, when a member of the church, Lucille Michael, generously donated 19 acres. An additional 15 acres was purchased to total 34 acres of fertile soil along Interstate 81.
This exciting journey would not be without its challenges. Permits, engineering, and securing a construction loan during unfavorable lending years would require eight years of relentless faith from the congregation.
In 2015, the church decided to take a leap of faith by selling their building and continue making steps to occupy their new property. Momentum started to build over the next two years in a renovated space at the local mall.
On loan process #13, financing was secured and a jet stream of motivation was unleashed as the new site was finally under construction! One more hurdle, the mall was facing demolition. They would have to make another move into the movie theaters for 5 weeks. Faith and expectancy only increased.
On December 18, 2016, the church celebrated its maiden flight in 34,000 square feet of unlimited opportunity. Ever since we touch down on this property, we knew that something was in the air!
Airborne Church Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe the Bible was written by authors through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and is the inspired word of God. It is the TRUTH without error and our complete source for Christian living. (II Timothy 3: 16,17).
Our God
God is the creator of the Heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
He is the beginning and the end. (Revelation 1:8)
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who gave his life on a cross as the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins. He arose from the grave to show his power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return to earth again to rule as King of all kings.
(Matthew 1: 22-23) (Isaiah 9: 6-7) (Hebrews 4: 14-15) (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4) (Acts 1: 9-11)
(John 14: 28-30) (1 Timothy 6:14-15)
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit lives in every believer of Christ (1 Corinthians 12: 13, Acts 2: 38-39). The Holy Spirit teaches, guides and leads us in the truth (John 14: 25-26). The Holy Spirit is in the world to convince men of their sin and the truth about their new future (John 16: 7-13). The Holy Spirit empowers us to be a witness of Christ (Acts 1: 8). We believe in all the gifts of the spirit. One or more of these gifts are evident in every believer as God determines (1 Corinthians 12: 4-11). We believe that, above all gifts, LOVE should be a Christian’s greatest desire. Without LOVE, all else is meaningless! (I Corinthians 12: 31) (I Corinthians 13: 1-13) (I Corinthians 14:1)
Knowing Jesus Christ
We believe that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ gives us everything we need to live through His rich and wonderful promises. Jesus invites us to share in the nature of God that produces a genuine love for everyone (2 Peter 1: 3-8).
Eternal Life
God’s love for us gives hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
Jesus is preparing a home for us to live with him forever (John 14: 1-3)!
Revelation 22:12 “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. (NIV)
Greatest Commandment
We believe in the first and greatest commandment of loving God with all our hearts.
The second greatest commandment is like the first in loving our neighbors as ourselves.
(Matthew 22:37-40)
The Church
We believe that the church is not a building but the believers.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? NLT
